Yoga

Yoga is commonly looked upon as a means for physical fitness and flexibility these days and while that does form a part of the practice, it really is a means of total fitness and flexibility: mentally, physically and emotionally. When practiced mindfully and with intention, what we do on the mat becomes a way of accessing and unlocking the mental and emotional difficulties packaged within our bodies. The true depths of the practice comes from how we move rather than the movements we make. Yogic philosophy provides the scaffold for nurturance, kindness and wisdom as the ‘how’,  which creates a practice of life and being rather than just of body. While cultivated on the mat, these concepts can then be exported off the mat as a means for skilful and harmonious living.

Different themes and postures will be explored throughout the various sessions. Practitioners are always encouraged to find their own way into a posture as a means of self awareness and empowerment. Progress in practice arises when the practitioner connects with subtler realms of experience, such as their emotional state, and is increasingly nurtured by their practice through kindness in motion. In this way, general classes will always be accessible to all levels of experience. Private sessions, however, allow the opportunity for a tailor made program to suit the practitioner's level of experience, strengths, weaknesses and goals. This targeted approach will better support those with specific needs or injuries into a space of wellness far more effectively.

Please get in touch to find out more about the practice and how it can work for you. Contact details can be found at the bottom of the page.

"Han carries a presence, calmness and compassion like that of a true yogi; wise beyond his years. He is embodied and integrated to a depth that takes his students beyond their intellectual understanding of yoga, into a visceral experience of yoga in its essence. A class with Han is a slower, deeper, more holistic dive into the practice, in a way that modern western yoga is often missing today."

"Several years ago I was fortunate for my life path to lead me to the teachings of Han. I was at a cross roads struggling with work and life stresses and the gentle nature of Han, through meditation and yoga, helped guide me into learning to prioritise myself. Han has a wisdom that sends you the perfect subtle message at exactly the time you are ready to receive. I am thankful for the day that Han entered my life and grateful to continue to learn and develop through the practice of yoga and meditation."
